I sat behind my sleek desk, scanning the financial reports in front of me. My sharp eyes narrowed as I analyzed the numbers, my mind racing with strategies to boost the company's profits.
At 23, I was the CEO of Raizada Industries, I had taken the responsibility of the company after my father's sudden passing, and had worked tirelessly to prove myself as a capable leader.
Just then, my assistant, Rohan, knocked on the door. "Sir, your parents are here to see you."
I felt a knot form in my stomach. I knew what this meeting was about. My mother had been pressuring me to get married for months now.
"Send them in," I said, my voice neutral.
*Haridya's POV*
I walked out of the anatomy lab, my mind is still thinking about the lecture which I just have taken which is of the human body. I had always been fascinated by medicine, and was determined to become a top-notch doctor one day.
As I changed out of my lab coat, my thoughts turned to my family. My parents had sacrificed so much for my education, and I was determined to make them proud.
Just then, my phone buzzed. It was my mother."Haridya, beta, we need to talk," she said, her voice anxious.
My heart skipped a beat. What was wrong?
"What is it, Maa?" I asked, trying to keep my tone light.
"We've received a proposal for your marriage," she said, her voice hesitant.
I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. Marriage? Already?
*The Meeting*
Antriksh's pov.
I stood outside the living room, listening to the sound of my mother and the girl what her name ahh finally remember haridya ya haridya's parents voice. I took a deep breath and stepped inside.
As I stepped into the room, my eyes met hers, and I felt a jolt. Haridya stood across from me, a vision of loveliness that surpassed even the most stunning beauty queens. Her raven-black hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall of night, framing a face that could put even the brightest stars to shame.
Her eyes, like two glittering brown diamonds, sparkled with warmth and kindness, drawing me in with an otherworldly allure. Her skin, a radiant golden brown, glowed with a soft, ethereal light, as if infused with an inner radiance. Her full lips, a deep crimson, curved upward in a gentle smile, beckoning me closer.
For a moment, I forgot to breathe. I forgot about the meeting, the marriage proposal, everything. All I could see was her, a breathtakingly beautiful woman who seemed almost... divine. But then I shook my head, clearing the thought. I couldn't let myself get distracted. I ignored her completely, turning my attention to our parents' conversation. They discussed the details of the marriage, the dowry, the date. I nodded and agreed, all the while avoiding Haridya's gaze.
Haridya's pov.
As I entered the room, my eyes met his, and I felt a flutter in my chest. Antriksh stood tall, his broad shoulders squared, his piercing gaze seeming to see right through me. His chiseled features, sharp jawline, and striking eyes made him look like a model straight out of a fashion magazine.
For a moment, I forgot to breathe. I forgot about the meeting, the marriage proposal, everything. All I could see was him, a stunningly handsome man who seemed almost... untouchable.
But as our eyes met, I expected a spark, a hint of acknowledgement, something. Instead, he looked right through me, his expression unreadable. He turned away, ignoring me completely.
I felt a sting, a pang of disappointment. Was I that invisible? That uninteresting? I tried to shake off the feeling, telling myself it didn't matter. But it did. It mattered a lot.
As the meeting progressed, I couldn't help but steal glances at him. He was polite, courteous, but distant. It was as if I didn't exist.
I felt a surge of frustration, of hurt. Who was this man, and why was he treating me like this? Didn't he know that I was a person, with feelings and emotions?
As the meeting drew to a close, I stood up, my heart heavy with a mix of emotions. I didn't know what the future held, but I knew one thing - I wouldn't let Antriksh's ignorance get the better of me.
Antriksh's pov.
As the meeting drew to a close, I excused myself . As I walked back to my office, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease.
Why was I agreeing to this marriage? I didn't even know Haridya.
As I sat at my desk, staring blankly at the financial reports, my mind wandered back to Haridya. Who was this girl, really? What did she want out of life?
I felt a pang of guilt for not paying more attention to her during the meeting. But something about her had caught my attention.
I sighed, rubbing my temples. I had a feeling that this marriage was going to be more complicated than I had anticipated
